100th Anniversary

This year marks the 100th Anniversary of our school, and we are thrilled to share a once-in-a-lifetime moment with our community! 

Hidden inside the cornerstone of our auditorium was a time capsule—a true treasure from the past. Thanks to the generosity of LMI, who donated their time and expertise, the capsule will be carefully removed the week of September 22 so we could take a step back in history.

With the help of our amazing staff and students, we’ve thoughtfully chosen new items to include before the capsule is placed back for future generations to discover. 

While a formal celebration will take place later this year, we couldn’t wait to let everyone know about this incredible opportunity! A huge thank you to Heidi Feltrop and Dave Gaibis for leading this special initiative, to LMI for their generous donation of work, and to the Historical Society for being such an insightful partner in the process.

What an incredible day at ECASD! We officially found AND opened the time capsule at Lincoln! A huge thank you to everyone who made this discovery possible:

Blood Hound Underground Utility Locators for using their ground-penetrating radar last week to help locate it,

ECTV for capturing the entire process on film, and

The Ellwood City Area Historical Society for their support and partnership in preserving our community’s history!

We’ve seen the contents and are now working to preserve these historical items as we begin planning a special celebration for Lincoln’s 100 years!
